It's hats on to beat the January blues

The Brandon Trust has come up with a novel way of helping Saltash people beat those January blues.
Workplaces, schools and community groups are being asked to wear, make or decorate a hat for the charity's 'Hat Parade' on Friday 25 January, in return for a £1 donation.
Brandon Trust is a pioneering learning disability charity, providing services and projects to children, young people and adults in Saltash and all over Cornwall.
Lucy Hurst-Brown, Chief Executive, said: ''We are all about taking the 'dis' out of disability and supporting people to achieve their hopes and dreams, from access to employment training, short breaks, assistive technology, or having a place of their own to call home.
"Funding is ever shrinking and we are reliant more than ever before upon fundraising to help support projects that are beyond statutory funding.''
The charity hope that organisations will get behind 'Hat Parade' to not just raise funds but to also highlight the challenges faced by those with a learning disability.
A free fundraising pack is available full of ideas on how to make the most of 'Hat Parade'. To get your hands on a pack email Hatparade@brandontrust.org or telephone 01179 062916.
