    I know I shouldn't but seeing the picture of the wasps reminds me of the story of the young boy who goes into a pet shop & asks to buy 2 wasps, the shopkeeper tells him that he doesn't sell wasps, so the boy says 'then why have you got them in the window' I'm really sorry for that but it's the one wasp joke that I can just about remember.

    Bignell's Grandson David Hodge is hoping to come to Plymouth & Saltash for a visit this summer so keep an eye out for that on Saltash People. If your son is interested in Entemology you should take him to the Plymouth Museum they have a great entomology selection esp of Bignell's. The keeper of natural history Jan Freedman would be more than happy to show you & your son the exhibits including an extensive range in the museums archives!

    Very interesting page on George Carter-Bignell and amazingly my Son is interested in entomology. We are on the Family tree at present 2010.
    Caroline Jane Pettican ( Nee Koning ). My Mum is now living in South Africa, Shirley Catherine Koning, ( Nee Taylor, Daughter of the Late Sydney Tayor Esq. who lived at Stone Hedges, Devon, UK).
