SALTASH’S May Fair committee is celebrating another successful year after 100 stalls lined Fore Street.
Co-organiser Kevin Procter said the fair was well attended and the crowds enjoyed entertainment provided by the Cornish Wurzels and Shoot The Crow.
He said: “We have such a small number of volunteers who run these two days and we need more people to help year on year.
“There were only six or seven working committee members, so I would like to thank them.
“All the volunteers present on Saturday and Sunday deserve a big thank you from the town.”
Young people’s organisations paraded down Fore Street, with the St John Ambulance youth branch picking up the award for best presented.
Mayor Adam Killeya gave awards to Saltash’s Citizen of the Year Ken Spears and Young Citizen of the Year Adam Riglar, to thank them for their community work.
Mr Killeya said: “I have known Adam for more than five years as one of his teachers and he is involved in a great many community and voluntary activities, including the Scouts and Young Stagers.”
