New Work Cornwall
You can receive personalised, 1-to-1 support, according to your individual needs and situation. The idea being that, rather than New Work deciding how to spend the money and then trying to recruit people to various schemes – you can have the opportunity to tell them what you want and how the money would best help you with your employment prospects.
To access this funding, you need to go along to a one-day workshop in Truro on 14th September or St Austell on 15th September (New Work will cover transport costs and supply lunch!) and fill in some forms. At the workshops, you’ll meet lots of new people and discuss your experiences of working in Cornwall/ the job scene here.
New Work can then arrange for you to have a 1-to-1 session with a specialist advisor who can help you identify your specific training desires and the best ways to use the funding that is available for you.
You could use the funding towards a specific course you already know they want to/ need to do – or the advisors can help you decide what new skills would be of most benefit to you.
To be able to receive the funding, you need fall into one of the following categories:
· In full-time employment
· Self-employed
· Directly at risk of losing your job (for example, working in a company that may be closing down or is known to be planning cutbacks)
· Insecure in your employment situation (for example, if you’re working in a sector that is declining/ struggling to make a living/ doesn't seem to have a very good future)
· Recently made redundant (less than 6 months ago)
If you are keen to attend one of these workshops and have the opportunity to access the funding available, then contact the New Work team on 01326 259 986 or email helena@newworkcornwall.co.uk or emma@newworkcornwall.co.uk
