The Port Eliot Music & Literary Festival in July at St Germans is a popular festival for many people living in Saltash as it is so close by. I went along to meet some of you and find out what you thought about the festival.

If you have never been to a music or literary festival then this is a wonderful and gentle introduction to both. Spending the day at Port Eliot for the first time it is easy to see why many of you come back year after year to Port Eliot.
Every available space of the Eliot estate is covered with tents separated into themes, like the Garden of Delights a circle of tents hidden in the gardens for healing, the Boat Hole a strip of tents to delight you along the lake, including a 1 minute disco van upon every hour! And the House of Fairy Tales, tents dedicated to the imagination and creativity of little ones.
Many of you told me this is a very family friendly festival. Walking through the maze and gardens I unsuspectingly came across a group of kids dangling from a giant old tree, and I thought this is their festival too. Of course there were plenty of Cocktail bar tents with people relaxing on deck chairs listening to music from the nearest tent.
The Saltash Rail Users Group had a stand at the festival as so many people from Saltash come to the festival by train which is a lot easier and Jane Marshall from Healing Oils was there at her first time at the festival. If you went to the festival this year let me know about your experiences.
