Saltash is having a garden party to celebrate the Royal Wedding of Miss Catherine Middleton and Prince William, in the traditional style of an English garden party reminiscent of the wedding of Queen Elizabeth and street parties after the war.

There will be plenty to see and do for all ages including; maypole dancing, bouncy castles, circus skills workshop, face-painting, sing along sessions for pre-schoolers & community singing for adults, a fancy dress parade in the form of Princesses and Knights, a fancy hat parade for adults and an art competition by the local schools.

There will be a short essay competition that children can enter before the day, based on an interview with a grandparent or elderly neighbour of their recollections of the wedding of Queen Elizabeth.

The bowling club will be providing teas and coffees. The children of Bishop Cornish School are making one magnificent wedding cake that will be ceremoniously cut and distributed to residential homes.

Is there a couple that has their wedding anniversary on the 29th April? A local couple is needed to ceremoniously cut the wedding cake - the cake will then be distributed to residential homes.

You will even be able to have your picture taken with life-size cut outs of the Royal couple (taken on the day of their engagement) and lots, lots more! So come along to the garden party at Longstone Park, Saltash on the 29th April from 2.00pm – 5.00pm.
