How Prepared are We for Snow?

The MET Office forecasts the most widespread snow to start this early since 1993. Some parts of Cornwall are already covered in a thick white blanket and the MET Office is predicting more to come.

Cold winter months
So far we have only felt a biting icy wind and early morning frost but no snow. I have to say apart from the worry of the steep roads in Saltash, I have heard many tales of cars slipping and crashing on bad winters, I have always loved winter in Cornwall.
I love the quiet roads and empty beaches, I love the warm doughnuts sold twice the size for half the price when the tourists have gone home. But surprisingly I also love the bleak dark landscape of Cornwall that wears the winter months well.
The child in me is looking forward to a white Christmas but the cold biting wind reminds me just how unprepared I am for snow. Winter is warmer and dryer in the Southwest than the rest of England so are we really prepared for a December of blizzards and bad weather?
