To build on its continuing success, the Saltash May Fair photographic competition for 2011 will be include a second category, open to younger entrants.

Local processors Speedy Prints of Saltash have again combined with the May Fair Committee to organise this year’s competition, which will have both a Senior and a Junior category. The Junior category is open to anyone under the age of 16 years, whilst the Senior category will be open to amateur photographers only.

Any snapshot of the Saltash area taken over the last twelve months will be eligible. Limited to three photographs per person, entries are to be easily identifiable views of Saltash and the PL12 area and should be emailed to Speedy Prints at ‘shop@speedyprints.co.uk’ or downloaded onto disc and taken in an envelope to Speedy Prints of Wesley Road, Saltash. Regrettably, images taken on mobile phones cannot be accepted for reproduction reasons. All entries should be clearly marked ‘Saltash May Fair Photograph Competition’ along with details of where and when the shot was taken along with a contact address and telephone number.

Closing date for entries is Monday 18th April, when the judges will select the best entries, and, as last year’s competition, all entries will be presented to the town’s Heritage Museum as a snapshot of the area over the past twelve months. A full set of rules can be viewed at Speedy Print in Saltash, or online at http://tinyurl.com/ygbqkq5

The winners will be announced at the Town Council supported May Fair on Saturday 30th April, where, along with traditional favourites in the street market, new entertainments and activities are planned involving local organisations, clubs and societies, and the ever-popular half marathon and fun run will take place on Sunday 1st May.
