Saltash Town Council Meet 'More' People!

In
an attempt to reach more people the Saltash Town Council is taking its monthly
‘Meet the People’ stall to Waitrose on 10th July, in an experiment
to extend the idea outside of Fore Street.
Meet
the People began as a way of making sure members of the public can talk to
their councillors. Each month, on the Saturday after the council meeting, a
councillor from each ward mans the stall in Fore St from 10am until 12 noon. I
think that this has always been a good idea to keep politics open and extending
the venues should help reach more people.
The Mayor of Saltash,
Councillor Adam Killeya, said, “Meet the People has worked really well and we
want to speak to even more people, we hope that by holding a stall outside of
Fore Street we will be able to reach more people that we may not have otherwise
met. We are very grateful to Waitrose for agreeing to this experiment and are
hoping to do stalls elsewhere in Saltash in the future”.
