Saltash Camera Club Presentation at Ashtorre Rock

The Saltash & District Camera Club presented their annual awards last night at Ashtorre Rock on the waterfront. The cups were awarded by the Saltash Mayor Colin Oakes and his wife Marilyn.

The gregarious Chairman of the club Pete Wilkins kicked off the new season with a welcoming of new and old members and a tribute to member, Pete Welsh, an amazing wildlife photographer who passed away recently and who will be missed.
The cups were awarded ceremoniously to the members, often awarding multiple trophies to a photographer, followed by a bouquet of flowers to Marilyn Oakes and ending with a sociable buffet.

The popular camera club sees members from as far as Saltash to Plymouth and St Germans. They meet every Monday evening at Ashtorre in Saltash and regularly conduct internal competitions, guest speakers, field assignments, teaching evenings and many social gatherings throughout the year.
