Network Rail made the decision last year to re-paint the iconic I.K Brunel Bridge to its current grey colour, which it has been since 1911, rather than the original off-white even after extensive tests to discover the original colour of the 152 year old bridge.
The project will involve a two year scheme to repair and strengthen the bridge and strip off the thirty layers of existing paintwork.
Details of how this will be achieved and possible delays to train journeys will not be released until Friday.

I am glad they are keeping the bridge goose grey. It has been grey for many years and after all isnt white too hard to clean??!
