Beacon spoil Plymstock's unbeaten record

PLYMOUTH & DISTRICT SATURDAY LEAGUE
BEACON Down burst Plymstock's bubble in Division One.
Plymstock suffered their first defeat of the season at Central Park when Beacon Down beat them 128-114. Mike Sampson led his rink to a 39-29 win.
North Down moved up to second after beating New Plymouth 117-105. Neil Hamlyn was top skip, winning 37-17.
City Bus gained their first points of the season after beating fellow strugglers Mount Gold 125-105. Roy Chaffe led his rink to a 34-23 win.
With the leaders of Division Two Tamar sidelined, Ivybridge missed the chance to join them at the top when they lost heavily at Saltash. The score of 143-89 saw all Saltash's rinks win, but Terry Hodge's was the best, winning 39-20.
Torpoint beat Dean Cross 132-102 with Keith Payn leading the way with a 47-19 success.
Tothill take over as leaders of Division Three having a better shot difference than Plympton.
They beat City of Plymouth 142-80 with Bill Perrott top skip, winning 40-19.
Lee Moor gained their first win of the season despite only having 14 players, beating Sir Francis Drake B 108-56. Roy Roach top scored (29-8).
FARLEY TROPHY
THERE were second round wins for New Plymouth, Yealmpton, Devonport Park and Beacon Down, while Plymstock had a walkover. Other games did not survive the weather.
PLYMOUTH & DISTRICT LADIES' LEAGUE
DIVISION One is led by City Bus with Plymbirds six points behind. Buckfastleigh are leading Division Two, level on points with Ivybridge.
